As part of my Bachelor's project, I aim to develop a smart home pharmacy solution that combines my passion for interior design and medical design. Over the years of my university studies, I have developed a strong interest in medical products and their social impact. Inspired by this, I identified the need for an innovative solution to improve personal health care at home. The project aims to create a unique app-linked medicine cabinet that integrates seamlessly into the living space, offering a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality. By addressing everyday medical needs and enhancing medication management, the solution aims to elevate the standard of personal health care and promote overall well-being.
Redefining Personal Health Care with App-Linked Assistance
The development process for the smart home pharmacy solution involved an extensive theoretical research phase to ensure its effectiveness and practicality. It began with a survey conducted among approximately 100 individuals to gather insights on personal healthcare at home. Additionally, I engaged in discussions with a representative from the Pharmacist Association to understand their perspective on medical equipment. I compared general recommendations for the contents of a home pharmacy and delved into technical aspects such as data security, personal data processing, and blockchain technology. Collaborating with an electrical engineer and a software developer, I addressed the specific technical requirements of the home pharmacy.

To better understand the diverse needs of potential users, I conducted interviews with five distinct user groups and analyzed their everyday challenges related to personal healthcare. Incorporating their feedback and insights, I tailored the product to meet their specific needs. The development process also involved a thorough examination of materials and power supply options to ensure optimal functionality and aesthetics.
Finally, a user testing phase was conducted to validate the solution's usability and effectiveness. The feedback gathered from this process allowed for further refinements and improvements to enhance the overall user experience. The culmination of this comprehensive development process resulted in a sophisticated and user-centered smart home pharmacy solution that seamlessly integrates into the living space and addresses the real-life challenges of medication management and personal health care.

TRIO, the world's first app-linked medicine cabinet and a nominee in the Young Talents category at the UX Design Awards, revolutionizes personal health care by seamlessly combining digital and haptic assistance. Equipped with an e-ink display and an intuitive app interface, TRIO empowers users to effortlessly book doctor's appointments, access medication plans, and stay informed about relevant health information. Its design features inductive charging coils, a 360° rotatable screen, and magnets for easy handling and suspension. TRIOmed, a smaller version, includes an automatic pill dispensing system utilizing pre-filled cartridges and small rod motors. Made from recycled plastic and featuring a waterproof cotton fabric, TRIO embodies sustainability and ease of cleaning.
With its groundbreaking features, TRIO significantly improves personal health care at home. By ensuring accurate medication schedules, preventing storage errors, and promoting proper wound care, TRIO tackles medication-related challenges head-on. The combination of digital and haptic assistance offers a user-friendly and accessible experience, empowering individuals to manage their health effectively. Seamlessly integrated with electronic health records, TRIO enhances overall well-being by fostering better health outcomes. TRIO's comprehensive solution provides confidence and control in personal health care, revolutionizing the way we approach self-care at home.
