Rebranding Lucaj GmbH:
Creating a Strong and Modern Image

Dr. Lorenz Lucaj, founder of Lucaj GmbH and a consultant, approached me with a request to rebrand his company and give it a new name. The goal was to scale the business and establish a more professional image.

 

The desired outcome was a balance between a serious and modern look. The client expressed a preference for a blue color scheme and potentially incorporating a raspberry or green tone. The aim was to create a brand that would resonate with clients and help the company stand out in a competitive market.

 

The name needed to be strong, serious, and modern, while avoiding any duplications in the industry. The project timeline was approximately four weeks, divided into two phases: the name exploration phase, which included a name workshop, and the logo design phase, which encompassed color schemes and font selection.

From Ideas to Identity:
The Journey of Creating a Strong Brand

The name exploration process presented challenges as many names were already taken. I provided a range of suggestions, including original fantasy names. Ultimately, a name that was initially proposed in my initial drafts was selected.

The client emphasized the need for a logo, color scheme, and fonts that could be easily implemented in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. To meet this requirement, I selected a font that is readily available and free to use on the most common software platforms. This approach was also applied to the logo design to ensure consistency throughout the brand. The wordmark, combining serif and sans-serif fonts, effectively conveys both seriousness and modernity. The color palette, consisting of blue, green, and red, was chosen to evoke trust and reliability.

The name "Ceon" combined with the suffix "Digital" fulfills the requirement of blending seriousness and modernity. It conveys stability and instills a sense of confidence and reliability in clients. After a brief period, the customer decided to replace "Digital" with "Consulting", a change that I then implemented. 

 

The decision to incorporate two shades of blue, a green tone, and a red accent into the color palette successfully merges professionalism and modernity.

 

The choice of a classic font contributes to the overall impression of a modern and serious brand. The collaboration with the client was closely intertwined, with ongoing discussions regarding design elements. The name was determined through a workshop process, ensuring the client's active involvement in the decision-making.
